Fun and Adventure Recreation at Northstar this Summer

Summer at Northstar: A Path for Everyone

Summer has officially come to Lake Tahoe and while there are seemingly limitless amounts of choices available for those in search of outdoor adventure and recreation, one need look no further than the resort at Northstar, California for a concentration of world-class amenity in one awe-inspiring locale.

Perhaps the biggest draw at Northstar during the summer months is the ever-popular mountain bike park. Opening this Friday, June 14th, Northstar’s bike park provides fun for riders of every skill level. With expert, gravity-born single track downhill riding to friendly cruisers designed for the entire family to travel on, Northstar is the premier location for mountain biking this summer, boasting the largest lift-served bike park on the West Coast. Those just starting out, however, needn’t be intimidated. The bike park at Northstar has a selection of 52 trails, 60% of which are either for beginners or the intermediate rider. This gears the park (no pun intended) towards learning and growing, so there is literally a trail suitable for everyone.

If you’d rather get into the “swing” of things this summer by way of a golf club, the golf course at Northstar is the place for you. Designed by world-renowned golf course designer Robert Muir Graves, the course at Northstar sits at 8,830 feet above sea level. The elevation will give your drive an extra 10-15 yards, and who doesn’t want that? Panoramic views, manicured greens and fairways, and mountain vistas — these aspects will define your Northstar golf experience, one certainly like no other. Northstar also employs a talented team of PGA Golf Professionals to teach players at every stage of development. Whether you have yet to step foot on a putting green or aspire to become the first scratch golfer in the family, the Northstar team will be there to help you achieve your goals on the course.

For all who seek the simple joy of being out on the trail, commingling with nature, Tompkins Memorial Trail is immediately accessible. In cooperation with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Northstar-at-Tahoe, over 14.6 miles of multi-use trails have been constructed and are maintained so that residents and guests of the resort at Northstar may utilize them for hiking, biking, and running. They wind throughout the base of Northstar and provide access to adjacent Martis Valley and Porcupine Hill areas.

There is so much to take advantage of and literally at your fingertips while sojourning at Northstar. Its robust selection of summertime recreation adventure activity leads the local resort scene.
