The 33rd Annual Food & Wine Festival Comes to Northstar

The 33rd Annual Food & Wine Festival Hits Northstar

For some it may be sad to admit, but the temperatures are beginning to drop here in the High Sierra, and there is no better way to prepare for the colder months ahead than to celebrate the art of preparing (and the act of eating) glorious food.

This weekend, the 33rd annual Food & Wine Festival will once again be held at the resort at Northstar and the array of activities and offerings are as hearty as ever. With some of the regions most renowned winemakers and chefs taking up residency over the next three days, any foodie would surely cook his own goose by not attending.

As always, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. From yoga classes (paired with wine of course), to instructional culinary seminars, to wine tastings, and guided hikes culminating in beer sipping (is any hike complete without refreshment at the end?), this year's festival is destined to be one of the very best, leaving you with a broadened mind and pallet.

Depending on what you would like to participate in throughout the duration of the festival, there are different ticket packages which allow you to select from the menu of activities á la carte. There is no fee to enter the festival grounds and take part in the free seminars, but if you wish to make your festival experience all the richer, go here, and purchase tickets for some of the more elevated offerings. These include a family style dinner cooked by celebrity Chef Mark Jeffers at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, the festival's Grand Tasting & Culinary Competition, as well as a hands-on seminar on fermentation with Chef Lara Ritchie. There's even a class that will teach you how to carve your very own butter knife out of wood using traditional Japanese tools. How cool is that?

So come out this weekend and join the others partaking in this intimate, educational, and all together refreshing experience. Before we know it, the snow will fly and those evenings spent in repose will be all the more enjoyable if you know which wine to pair with that dish you learned how to prepare at this year's 33rd Annual Food & Wine Festival at Northstar. Don't miss out.
