Northstar California Hosted Carve Tahoe

Northstar, California For the second year in a row, some of the best snow sculptors in the world came to Northstar California for an international snow sculpting competition. Teams from Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Japan, Canada and the U.S. came to the Village at Northstar for a week to take part in this unique competition. International teams were each provided a 30 ton block of snow to transform into the sculpture of their choice. The teams meticulously carved away at their gigantic blocks of snow for several days until incredibly detailed works of art emerged as finished products. With our office location right in the Village at Northstar, we had the opportunity to see the progress unfold on a daily basis. It was amazing to see the sculptures slowly take shape right before our eyes. Guests staying in the Village at Northstar during the week felt just as lucky as we did. Checking in on the sculptures every day and taking photos to share with family and friends was something everyone looked forward to. Once completed, visitors had the opportunity to vote for their favorite snow sculpture for the People's Choice Award. Northstar California is such a fantastic winter resort. The mountain itself is clearly the main attraction, but events like Carve Tahoe are the icing on the cake of this wonderful resort destination. We are excited for Carve Tahoe and the talented international teams to return next winter to give us more amazing creations to admire. Photo Gallery
