Gar Woods Grill & Pier, Carnelian Bay, California Serving upscale casual fare since opening in 1988, Gar Woods Grill & Pier is one of the premier lakefront dining destinations in North Lake Tahoe. Located in Carnelian Bay, the restaurant offers spectacular views and fantastic food. With floor to ceiling windows on two dining levels, a waterfront deck and an enormous pier, the vantage points are plentiful from which to soak in the incredible sights. Chef Beau Lindborg has created lunch and dinner menus showcasing the best of California cuisine. With many fresh seafood dishes, hand-cut steaks, poultry, pasta and other tempting selections, it can be difficult to make up one's mind with all the great choices on the dinner menu. The lunch menu showcases many delicious salad creations and sandwich favorites such as juicy burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, crab cake sandwiches and fish tacos. Lunch on Saturday and Sunday includes several classic breakfast options for those rising late from their beds. Gar Woods is known for its world famous cocktail, The Wet Woody, and has sold over two million of them. The landmark number was reached in August of this past summer, and they continue to add to that total every day. The restaurant's Speedboat Bar serves up many different varieties of the notorious drink, as well as any other cocktail you can imagine and over a dozen wines by the glass. Come to Gar Woods with friends Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 for Happy Hour specials. Enjoy a few drinks on the deck if the weather is nice and sunny, or stay warm by the river rock fireplace on those cold and snowy winter days.  Without a doubt, Gar Woods is one of our favorite spots on the lake to have a drink, dine, and take in the breathtaking Lake Tahoe scenery.
