First Fridays, Downtown Truckee, California Downtown Truckee is known for its charm as well as its inviting and vibrant energy. On the first Friday of every month that energy gets kicked into high gear for a few hours. From 5 PM to 8 PM many local businesses keep their doors open longer than usual and offer fun, unique, and creative ways of interacting with visitors. Many merchants will offer special promotions and sales, provide complimentary tastings of food and drink, and some will showcase music and other forms of entertainment. First Fridays is a great way for the local shops and restaurants to mix things up a bit, and it creates a festive atmosphere everyone is sure to enjoy. Each First Friday has its own theme, and this month’s theme is Sweet Treats and Campfire Heat – Campfires and S’more. One local business, Bespoke, will be serving hot toddies and mini s’mores. Bespoke was recently awarded the New Business of the Year Award by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce. If you haven’t paid them a visit yet tomorrow is the perfect chance to do that and to check out the many great shops, stores and restaurants of downtown Truckee. Each participating business will be displaying a First Friday flag, so look for a flag and get in on the fun. Tomorrow is the day, so make plans to come to downtown Truckee.
