Discovery Museum, Reno, Nevada The Children’s Discovery Museum in Reno has raised the bar for the region’s cultural and educational offerings. This wonderful addition to the Reno-Tahoe area is a must-visit. Interactive galleries and exhibits include the multi-story Cloud Climber, where children climb into the clouds and learn about the cycle of water and Da-Vinci’s Corner, where kids get hands on with the things Leonardo found most interesting – helicopters, catapults & refracted light! Nevada Stories explores Nevada’s rich history of gold mining & stagecoach travel expanding into the great West. Truckee Connects is an 80 foot long river mimicking the Truckee River where kids splash, fish and float toys down the river. Little Discoveries offers the youngest visitors a safe environment to explore and enjoy a magical treehouse, sliding board and even a mining converyor belt. Under the Stars allows kids to explore a cave and interact with Nevada’s wildlife. They learn the essentials for an outdoor camping trip while cozying up in a pitched tent under the Nevada stars. A magnetic fishing game is easy enough for a one-year old to navigate and the water of a pretend pond moves and ripples as children dance on the magical dance floor. For older kids, "Build It teaches the importance of green building and powers the Reno arch with renewable energy. The Spark! Smithsonian Lab explores the process of invention and challenges kids to come up with an invention of their own in this hands-on open classroom. Just a short trip from Truckee and the entire Tahoe area in general, Reno has so much to offer in the way of recreation and education. Make a point to add the Reno Discovery Museum to your list of places to see with the kids. Photos of the Discovery Museumno images were found
