Ski Swap 2017 is Here!! Don't Miss Out!

Do you have a mountain of surplus ski equipment piling up in your storage room that if you were to carelessly open the door to it you'd suddenly find yourself buried underneath a virtual landslide of skis, gloves, jackets, goggles, boots, socks, and thermal underwear? Worry not, the 2017 Truckee-Donner Ski & Snowboard Swap is here! This coming Saturday, Novemember 4th from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, the Truckee-Donner Rec and Park District will host its 35th annual ski swap held at the Community Recreation Center (8924 Donner Pass Road). It is the place to be in Lake Tahoe for those who are looking to sell/exchange/purchase used and new ski gear. You can sell your old equipment with a 20% commission charged if it sells and put that amount towards any of the selection offered by local individuals and businesses. Local reps will be on hand answering any and all questions (pertaining to ski gear that is). Those looking to unload and sell their equipment can register and pick up equipment sales tags at the Main Office any day this week leading up to the event. If you would like to register on the day of, you may do so anytime between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM. Call 530-582-7720 for more info. Doors to the swap will open at 11:00 AM, but be advised that it would behoove you to get there early because a line does tend to form a good hour prior to the start of the event. Admission is free for children ages 12 and under, $2 for anyone 13+. If you want an opportunity to pre-shop the swap, you may volunteer to work the event and have first dibs on the entire selection all before doors open to the public. Basically, the quality gear tends to go first so, be there early or be there to volunteer. Proceeds from the swap help fund Truckee Youth Sports. Shopping tends to be quite taxing so, if you are traveling from outside the immediate area, consider renting a cozy accommodation to rest and recover from our friends over at Tahoe Exclusive Vacation Rentals.
